NetSpeed Support
Learn how to display current transfer rates and choose the connection and display settings.
Getting started
- Start NetSpeed to see current download and upload rates in a small on-screen window and the system tray.
- Choose automatic or a specific connection in the connection setting. For VPNs and virtual adapters, try selecting the connection explicitly.
- Change units, refresh interval, display size and theme in Settings. Drag the small window to move it, or lock its position.
- Launch at sign-in is off by default. Enable it in Settings only if you want it.
Requirements and measurement
For Windows 11 build 22000 or later on x64 and ARM64. Administrator privileges are not required.
The displayed rate includes local network traffic. This is a view of transfers on your device, not a test of your connection's maximum speed.

FAQ
The rate is unavailable or stays at zero
Check whether traffic is flowing and select the active connection in Settings. After switching connections, the app needs another sample before it can show a rate.
How do I show VPN or virtual adapter traffic?
Select the relevant connection explicitly in Settings. Automatic selection targets physical connections.
Where did the app go after I closed Settings?
NetSpeed stays in the system tray. Use its notification area icon to open Settings or exit the app.
