MouseCoordinates Support
Find the basic steps for displaying and copying coordinates, troubleshooting information and contact details.
Basic use
- Read the current pointer position from X / Y in the palette. Coordinates use physical screen pixels.
- Choose Pick position to copy, then click the screen position you want. Use the same button or Esc to cancel. Picking cancels automatically after 30 seconds.
- The default Ctrl + Shift + F8 shortcut copies the current position without moving the pointer. You can change or disable shortcuts in Settings.
- Copy the last captured position or a recent position again. Clear recent positions in the app, or exit to discard them.
- Use Settings to change the coordinate origin, copy format, display mode, language and theme. Startup with Windows is disabled by default.
Windows and coordinate scope
The app targets Windows desktop from Windows 10 build 19041. Coordinates are measured across the desktop or from the top-left of the display under the pointer. Displays to the left or above the primary display may have negative desktop coordinates.
The app does not provide coordinates inside another application's document or a web page. It uses physical screen pixels rather than logical coordinates adjusted for display scaling.
Position picking or always-on-top display may be unavailable on UAC prompts, the lock screen, exclusive full-screen games or applications with different administrator privileges. Windows may also remove a hook on a normal desktop.

Useful details include Windows and app versions, steps to reproduce, expected and actual behavior, and the number and scaling of displays in use.
Do not send coordinates or clipboard contents. If you choose to share a screenshot or diagnostic log, check it for information you do not want to share first.
Problem diagnostics and Sentry
To fix problems, the app sends error types, causes and stacks, OS and app versions, a random installation identifier, and startup, exit and crash session counts to Sentry. Diagnostic data is processed to exclude personal file or folder names and paths, typed text, clipboard content, audio and device identifiers. The app does not send advertisements, screenshots, interaction recordings or memory dumps. Network IP addresses are processed by the service during transmission. Diagnostics are used to investigate problems; the main feature remains available offline.
FAQ
A copy or picking shortcut does not work
If another app uses the same key combination, choose a different shortcut in Settings. Shortcuts may be unavailable on input surfaces restricted by Windows.
The copied value differs from the live display
The live display keeps updating as the pointer moves. Compare the copied text with the last captured position. You can also check the coordinate origin and copy format in Settings.
