ModelToPixel Support

Import a model or choose the included robot, house or tree, then adjust views and colors to create image assets.

Import a model

Tap + in the project library and choose Import model. Static triangle meshes in USDZ, GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL and PLY formats are supported. Keep the model and its related resources within a combined 100 MB.

For OBJ files with separate MTL files or textures, or glTF files with separate BIN files or images, use Import folder. Preserve relative paths within the selected folder. Extract ordinary ZIP model packages before importing them.

A supported file will not open

GLB and glTF require 16-bit or 32-bit indexed geometry and floating-point UVs. Skeletal meshes, animation clips, non-indexed meshes, Draco or KTX2/Basis compression, FBX and BLEND are not supported.

Apply the model's pose to a static mesh and export triangulated geometry without compression. If resources are missing, check that referenced images and other files are present inside the selected folder.

Complex materials, normal maps, refraction and translucency will not look identical to the source 3D software. The app primarily uses base colors, images and vertex colors.

Create and save images

Once the preview finishes updating, tap Export and choose the current view as a PNG, a sprite sheet, separate PNGs or a rotation GIF. A GIF rotates the viewpoint; it does not convert animation clips from the model.

After Create file finishes, choose Save to Files or Share. Creating a file alone does not complete saving it to your chosen destination.

If processing is slow or the output is too large, reduce the resolution, number of views or export scale. If importing or saving stalls, restart the app and check the source file and available storage at the destination.

Projects and backups

Edits are saved automatically and imported resources are copied into the app. Touch and hold a project in the library to duplicate it or export a backup. Backups use the .modelpixel extension and can be imported from the library menu.

Projects moved to Trash can be restored. Projects removed from Trash, or lost when the app is deleted, cannot be recovered without a backup. Export backups of projects you need before deleting the app.

Purchasing and restoring Pro

Importing models, editing, previews and in-app saving are free. Exporting images or project backups requires Pro, available as a monthly subscription or a one-time purchase for lifetime access.

The purchase screen opens when you export and shows current prices. If you have already purchased Pro, choose Restore Purchases using the same Apple Account. If products do not appear, check your connection and reload.

The monthly plan renews automatically. Cancel using the management link on the purchase screen or your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Editing and in-app saving remain available after Pro expires.
