Image Reference Overlay Privacy Policy
Information handling in the Image Reference Overlay Windows app provided by CAEN Inc.
Processing on your PC
PNG and JPEG images are loaded and displayed locally. The app has no uploads of images or preferences, ads, analytics or account registration.
The clipboard is read only when you choose Paste, to import an image or image files. It is not monitored continuously. Original image files are not changed.
Stored information
Display PNG copies, image names, source dimensions, positions, sizes, opacity, rotation, mirroring, visibility, locking, restoration and language preferences are stored under CAEN/ImageReferenceOverlay in the user's LocalApplicationData. Windows may virtualize this folder for an MSIX package.
Large copies are reduced to at most 4096 pixels on the longest edge and 4 million pixels. Copies unused by the current and previous saved layouts are cleaned up on launch after 7 days. Cleanup is withheld for damaged or unknown settings. Original files are never included in this cleanup.
Purchases and support
Microsoft Store handles purchases, delivery and updates. The app has no separate payments, in-app purchases or subscriptions. Microsoft's services are covered by its privacy statement.
Your support email address, message and optional diagnostic details are used to reply and investigate issues. You do not need to send images, confidential filenames or storage paths.
