FolderColor Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CAEN Inc. handles information in the FolderColor Windows app.

Selected folders

FolderColor reads paths, attributes and icon settings of folders you select to change and restore their icons on your PC. It does not collect the contents of documents or images inside those folders.

It saves the selected color, original icon settings and recovery state in management files inside each affected folder. This allows restoration after the folder is moved or the app is updated.

Preferences and diagnostics

The last selected color is saved in per-user local app data. The app does not save a history of selected folders.

If an unexpected error occurs, a local log records the error type, code and program location. The app does not intentionally log exception messages or selected folder paths, but a program location may contain a source file path from the development environment. Logs are not sent automatically and older logs are replaced when the size limit is exceeded.

External services and synchronization

FolderColor has no app server, advertising or analytics. It does not send folder paths, colors or restoration data to CAEN Inc. or third parties.

Microsoft Store purchases, updates and diagnostics, Windows diagnostics, and synchronization by services such as OneDrive follow each service's settings and privacy policy. FolderColor does not control those communications.

Restoration and removal

Use Restore original icon in the app to undo its icon setting. Manually deleting management files can leave icons missing or prevent restoration.

Uninstalling the app does not automatically restore colored folders. Restore them in the app before uninstalling if you want their previous appearance. App preferences and diagnostic logs are stored in per-user local data.
