Information handling in the File Renamer by Date Windows app provided by CAEN Inc.
Processing on your device
Names, paths, dates, sizes, attributes and file identifiers of selected files and folders are processed on your PC. The app does not convert file contents or upload files.
The app has no ads, analytics, account registration or developer-server communication. Renaming works offline.
Preferences and operation history
Language, naming preferences and the most recent operation record are stored under CAEN/FileRenamerByDate in your user's LocalApplicationData folder. Records contain original, temporary and final names, paths, dates, sizes and file identifiers for undo and recovery.
Path information remains after the app exits. If an operation was interrupted, keep its record and temporary files beginning with .frbd- in the affected folders and use recovery. Undo a rename before deleting its record if you want to restore the original names.
Purchases and support
Microsoft Store handles purchases, delivery and updates. There is no separate payment service, in-app purchase or subscription. Microsoft's privacy statement applies to information handled by its services.
Your inquiry email address, details and optional diagnostics are used to reply and investigate an issue. You do not need to send your files. Remove personal or confidential information and file paths from screenshots or error details.
