FAQ
How do I return to the preview screen from the darkened display?
Press and hold the screen for at least 0.8 seconds to display the dark control panel. Tap 'Return to preview' in the panel to restore the regular composition preview and return device brightness to normal.
Can I take photos using volume buttons?
Yes. During preview and darkened mode, pressing and releasing a volume button captures a photo. In non-camera screens such as settings or gallery, volume capture is disabled to prevent accidental captures.
Where are photos saved?
Captured photos are first stored inside DimCamera. After granting permission to add photos and enabling automatic saving in app settings, future captures are also added to Photos. Export earlier photos manually from the in-app gallery.
The camera is not showing up.
Open iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera, and confirm that DimCamera is permitted access.
Photos are not being saved to Photos app.
Grant permission to save to Photos from DimCamera's settings. If you previously denied access, change DimCamera's photo permission in iOS Settings. Granting permission alone does not export earlier photos; save them from the in-app gallery.
Are photo data uploaded to any servers?
DimCamera does not send photos to CAEN's servers. Photos you choose to share are provided to the selected destination. Device backups and iCloud Photos synchronization follow your settings.
What happens when I delete a photo or the app?
Deleting an in-app photo removes only the original inside DimCamera. Copies in Photos or shared destinations remain. Deleting the app removes photos stored only inside it and its preferences, so save any photos you want to keep first.
Is account registration required?
No. You can use DimCamera immediately without creating an account or logging in.
