How CAEN Inc. handles information in WidthConverter.
Information handled by the app
Conversion happens on your PC. Input, converted text, clipboard contents, opened-file paths and file history are not saved in app settings. Only conversion choices, appearance, text size, wrapping and language are saved in local preferences for the current user. Text is written to a file only when you choose to save it. Clipboard access occurs only when you copy or paste; it is not continuously monitored. Copied text follows Windows clipboard history and sync settings. The app has no network requests, ads, analytics, accounts or automatic diagnostic uploads.
Support inquiries
Check all five category settings if the result differs from what you expected. Choose an encoding explicitly when auto-detection fails. Use UTF-8 for text that Shift-JIS cannot encode.
