Simple Notes Support

Simple Notes keeps notes and checklists on your device. If these steps do not resolve an issue, contact us with the app and Android versions you use.

Find a note

  • Use search to look through note titles, text, and checklist items.
  • Check Archive and Trash for notes you moved there.
  • Notes and edit history that you permanently deleted cannot be restored in the app.

Back up and restore

To create a manual backup, open Settings and choose Backup. This creates a ZIP file. To restore, choose the backup file from the same screen. Existing notes are kept; different backup content is added.

ZIP backups are not encrypted and contain readable text copies of notes. Store the file somewhere safe and review it before sharing.

Android automatic backups follow your device's system settings. Simple Notes does not provide its own device-to-device sync.

After reinstalling the app

Android may restore app data if its backup is enabled and data is restored during device setup. If it does not, import a saved Simple Notes ZIP backup. The developer cannot recover notes when no local data or backup file remains.

FAQ

Do my notes sync automatically between devices?

No. Simple Notes has no cloud sync service. Use a manual ZIP backup or check your Android backup settings if needed.

Can another app receive a note I share?

The app or service you select receives it after you start a share action. Review the destination and content before sharing.
