Local LLM Chat Privacy Policy
Local LLM Chat processes conversations and inference on your iPhone. The developer does not collect chat text, generated output, conversation history, or other personal data.
Data stored on your device
- Chat prompts, generated responses, conversation names, and history are stored in the app's local container to restore conversations and provide chat features.
- Generation settings and model-library information are stored locally to restore your selections.
- Downloaded MLX models are stored in Application Support and excluded from device backups.
- An optional Hugging Face access token that you enter is stored in the iOS Keychain.
The developer does not receive this data.
Connections to Hugging Face
When checking model format and size or downloading a model, the app sends the selected repository ID and model-file requests directly to Hugging Face. Only when you choose a model that requires authentication does the app send your stored access token to Hugging Face in an authorization header.
Chat prompts, generated responses, and conversation history are not sent to Hugging Face or any external inference service. After a model finishes downloading, on-device inference works without a network connection.
Third-party software
- MLX Swift and MLX Swift LM: on-device model loading and inference
- Swift Hugging Face: model metadata checks and model-file downloads from Hugging Face
- Swift Transformers: on-device tokenization
The app does not implement developer data collection through these SDKs.
Permissions, tracking, and advertising
The app does not request system access to photos, camera, microphone, contacts, location, or similar data. It does not include tracking, advertising, account creation, or a proprietary cloud-sync service.
Deleting data
Delete conversations in the app, downloaded models from the Models screen, and the access token from Settings. Uninstalling the app removes its local container and downloaded models.
