Hold Camera Support

Frame your photo and hold your iPhone still to capture one photo automatically. The manual shutter is also available.

Automatic capture

Turn Auto on and hold your iPhone nearly still for two seconds. Movement restarts the countdown. After capture, move to a new composition or tap Take another.

If capture is difficult to trigger, choose a more relaxed stillness sensitivity in Settings. The app cannot guarantee blur prevention for moving subjects or low light.

Camera and Photos permissions

Allow camera access and permission to add photos. If you denied access, change the Hold Camera permissions in iOS Settings. After closing Settings or the gallery, turn automatic capture on again when needed.

When saving fails

Check available device storage and permission to add photos, then retry saving or share from the in-app gallery. If a photo needs its save status checked, inspect Photos first to avoid saving a duplicate.

Do not uninstall the app while it contains unsaved photos. Uninstalling removes app settings and local photos. Copies already saved in Photos remain.

Supported features

Requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Volume-button capture requires iOS 17.2 or later. Features include front and rear cameras, zoom, focus and exposure, a grid, a level guide, and HEIF/JPEG settings. Camera features, flash, and resolution depend on your device.

This is an upfront-paid app with no advertising, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
