Chroma Key Support
Support information for removing green, blue, or another solid-color background and exporting a transparent PNG.
Basic Workflow
- Choose an image from Photos or Files.
- Tap the background color, then adjust the color range, edge softness, and spill suppression.
- Use the erase or restore brush for corrections when needed.
- From Export, save to Photos, share the PNG, or copy it.
If the Background Is Not Removed Cleanly
- If the subject and background colors are similar, reduce Color Range before refining the edge.
- If color remains around hair or translucent details, adjust Spill Suppression.
- Use Restore where too much was removed and Erase where unwanted pixels remain.
- This is a chroma-key tool based on the color you select, not AI subject detection. It is not designed for busy, multicolored backgrounds.
If Save to Photos Does Not Work
- Check add-only Photos access for Chroma Key in iPhone Settings.
- If storage is low, free some space and try saving again.
- Share and Copy PNG remain available without add-only Photos permission.
Resetting and Deleting Data
Closing the editor does not retain the selected image or edits. Delete exported PNGs from Photos or Files. To remove all app data, including the on-device review-prompt state, delete the app.
FAQ
Is the checkerboard included in the exported PNG?
No. The checkerboard is only a transparency preview and is not included in the exported PNG.
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. Image loading, editing, and exporting all take place on your iPhone.
