Boiled Egg Timer Support
Boiled Egg Timer is an iPhone app that calculates cooking time from your preferred yolk and egg conditions, then alerts you when it is done.
Start a Timer
Choose Boiling Water or Cold Water, select the yolk doneness, and tap the start button at the bottom of the screen. Egg Settings lets you change egg size, temperature, and your personal timing adjustment.
While Cooking and When Done
- Check the remaining time and add 30 seconds when needed.
- When notifications are allowed, the app alerts you even if the screen is locked or another app is open.
- On supported iPhones, Live Activity shows the remaining time on the Lock Screen and other system surfaces.
- When the timer ends, turn off the heat and move the eggs to cold water immediately.
If Notifications Do Not Arrive
- Check in iPhone Settings that notifications are allowed for this app.
- Notification volume follows Sounds & Haptics on your iPhone. Also check Silent Mode and Focus settings.
- Use Test Notification in 5 Seconds in the app's Settings screen to verify notification delivery.
Adjust Your Results
Your answer after cooking adjusts the next timer by 15 seconds. You can also change or reset the personal adjustment in Egg Settings or the app's Settings screen.
Reset Settings and Saved Data
Reset All Settings restores doneness, egg conditions, personal timing adjustment, sound, and screen preferences to their defaults. Uninstalling the app deletes its on-device data, which cannot be restored.
Troubleshooting
- Stop any active timer, quit the app, and open it again.
- Check that your iPhone has available storage and is running a current supported iOS version.
- If the issue continues, contact us with your iOS version, selected doneness, and the steps that led to the problem.
