Blindfold Chess Support
Blindfold Chess is an iPhone app for playing an on-device AI through board taps, notation, or optional voice entry and for completing three short visualization drills.
Getting started
- Choose your color, AI difficulty, and board visibility from New Game.
- Tap the starting and destination squares or enter notation such as e2e4 or Nf3.
- During blindfold play, Peek 3 sec briefly reveals the board and Undo move returns to your previous move.
- After a completed game, you can share its PGN through the iOS share sheet.
If voice input is unavailable
- Check microphone and speech-recognition access for the app in iPhone Settings.
- If you use a Bluetooth device, confirm that its microphone is connected.
- All game features remain available through board taps and notation input when speech recognition is unavailable.
If a move is not recognized
When more than one move matches, include the starting and destination squares, such as g1f3. Enter castling as O-O or O-O-O and promotion as e7e8q. Moves that are not legal in the current position are rejected.
Saved game and records
An unfinished game is saved on your device and can be resumed from Continue on the home screen. Delete records and saved game keeps your settings but removes the saved game and game and training records. This action cannot be undone.
If the issue continues
- Quit and reopen the app.
- Confirm that iOS is current and the device has available storage.
- When contacting support, include the iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and steps that caused the issue. You do not need to send a PGN or personal information.

FAQ
Does the app require an internet connection?
Games, the AI, PGN generation, and training run on your device. Speech recognition may use an Apple service depending on the device and operating system.
Are there accounts or additional charges?
No. The app is a one-time purchase and has no accounts, ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
