Batch File Renamer Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to Batch File Renamer, provided by CAEN Inc.

Collection by CAEN

CAEN Inc. does not collect app usage data or on-device records on its servers. The app has no account registration, advertising, analytics, tracking or in-app purchases.

Information stored on your device

The app stores file and folder names, access permissions for selected folder URIs, rename and restore history, rename presets and appearance settings on your device.

File access and progress notifications

The app manages folders you authorize through the Android folder picker. Optional all-files access is used for direct device-storage management, including the Downloads root. Folder-picker mode works without this permission. On Android 8–10, storage permissions are used for direct access.

During a rename or restore operation you start, a notification shows progress and a cancel action. A foreground service and wake lock help keep the operation running. Notification permission is used to show this progress notification.

Deletion and backup

Stored history and settings can be removed using app controls, by clearing app data or by uninstalling. Removing the app does not undo file renames. Preview and history CSV exports also remain at their destination.

App-private history and settings are excluded from automatic backup. Export any history you need as CSV before clearing app data or uninstalling.

Saving and sharing you request

CSV saving and sharing occur when you request them. The Android file provider or sharing app may use a cloud service you choose. The app does not encrypt exported CSV files.
