Audio Spectrogram Android Last updated: 2026-10-01

Audio Spectrogram Support

Open an audio file or start a microphone recording to view frequencies over time. Tap the chart to inspect a time and frequency; pinch to zoom. You can play audio, select a range for loop playback, and add timed notes.

Export formats

Export PNG for the current view, CSV for the frequency spectrum at the cursor, or 16-bit WAV for a selected time range. CSV export is not the full spectrogram.

dBFS and microphone limitations

The amplitude unit is dBFS, relative to digital full scale. It is not a sound pressure level in dB SPL. This app is not a calibrated sound level meter. Microphone response and device processing affect readings.

Supported formats and limits

Requires Android 8 or later. Mono and stereo audio at 8–192 kHz is supported. Encoded audio format support, including MP3, M4A, FLAC, and Ogg, depends on the device. Encrypted and surround audio are unsupported. Import limits are 512 MB for the original file and 1 GB after decoding. Microphone recording is limited to 60 minutes and available space. Long files may take time to analyze; import can be canceled.

Support

For problems, email info@caen.co.jp with your device model, Android version, audio format, steps to reproduce, and any displayed error. You do not need to send your actual audio recording.
